Quick Spamassassin question
« on: July 14, 2005, 09:30:56 PM »
I have a 6.01 server only running at my house and at a few clients. I want to use spamssassin to help with all the mail everyone is getting including myself. I do not use the 6.01 server as a mail server. I just pull my pop accounts from different providers. Most places including myself have multiple pop accounts all on different providers. So can spamassassin filter the different accounts first and then hand them off to outlook or will spamassassin only filter what is coming into a mail server? This is my first time looking at spamassain.

Thanks
Texasboy

Why not configure your server to be a smtp mail server (as it is designed to do), and then forward the POP account mail to the sme server account(s). Then collect the mail from the server via your LAN or webmail.
That way you will have spam & virus filtering done by the server.

Alternatively there are contribs to enable the server to collect mail from POP accounts.
