I am willing to lend you a hand if you want.

I have been looking at developing a panel similar to those in sysmon to show current live downloads per user.

SARG should do this anyway.

SARG 2.0.8 working on sme 6.01-01
« Reply #2 on: August 02, 2005, 04:14:22 AM »
I have had SARG working on 6.01 for a week now. no problems. I have to package it for installation in an RPM. for this i need a LOT of help as i have never rolled an RPM before.

I installed sarg 1.2.2-1 and e-smith-sarg-1.2.3-2 included in the netsecure.tar.gz packaged from http://www.acenet-tech.org/cdj/netsecure/netsecure.tar.gz and ran the activation script included in it.

then i compiled from source with switches to point sarg to the correct directories for squid logs, and /etc/sarg/sarg.conf for the conf file.

change the sarg.weekly, sarg.daily, and sarg.monthly scripts to point to /usr/bin/sarg instead of /usr/sbin/sarg.

I modified the template fragments and added new ones for extra components in sarg 2.0.8. they can be downloaded from http://fastwire.homeip.net/sarg.conf.tar.gz and untared into /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/sarg/sarg.conf

do an expand-template for sarg.conf and then a post-install, check out the sarg panel and it just works.
