I'm re-configuring my home network. The new server has a scsi raid array with the OS on it, and I've added a 160GB ide drive for ibays.
My old server had 2 ibays; one for files & one for music (MP3 with the apache mp3 extensions). The ibays each had their own hard disk (both of which are now full). After creating the ibays, I added an entry into fstab to mount the hard drives at the ibay point.
Now it gets interesting. The household has expanded; we now have 2 teenage kids, due to a death in the family. I might add here that we also have multiple desktop machines on the network.
So how should I go about configuring this.
Split the 160 GB drive into four partitions, one for each person, and mount them as before through fstab?
Leave the 160GB as one partition, create 4 folders, and use symbolic links from the ibays?
Are there other alternatives? The first would give some sort of quota management.
Suggestions welcome.
