Can anyone tell me what this means and how do I fix it?

Do you have CLAM installed via Jesper's script?  If so, goto the server-manager panel and set clam to yes, save, then send an e-mail and the /var/log/amavis-ng/amavis-ng.log directory structure should be created.  Here are my permissions for that file:
-rw-r--r--    1 qmailq   nofiles    150863 Aug  2 22:13 amavis-ng.log

Thanks I see now that the file was just created .... will see if I receive any of those messages tommorow
