Hi,

It seems to me that using a public IP address in a local private LAN is a violation of the 'rules' for LAN or WAN usage.

Try changing you local IP address into e.g. 192.168.1.1

Most of the time the external gatway address end in a '1' not a nine, play with that too.

i changed the address to
ip;10.0.0.4
gateway;10.0.0.1
external address;10.0.0.5

i connect the router directly to the network card that work as external address eth1 but the internet dosen't work, but when i connect the router to a switch and the nic to that switch to the internet works fine, i wonder is the way should be working or there's something wrong in the configuration.

Same subnet as your Lan. How about 10.0.1.5.

Your external network needs to be different from your internal network.

The system can't determine internal from external.

Use one of the provided addresses for the external interface, specify the gateway as required, and use an RFC1918 private address for the internal network. Check the manual.

BTW: This really isn't an "Experienced User Forum" question.
