Check the FAQ to see what a backup includes in order to be able to fully restore your system on a new server, it's a lot more than just /home/e-smith.
1. Thanks for pointing this to me, I did not know that there was a FAQ that showed what was being backed up.
2. I have an easy way of backing up and transfer, but from the FAQ:
* What is backed up when using SME's backup function?
The function "backup to desktop" will create and transfer a compressed file (smeserver.tgz) which contains the following files and repertories:
/home/e-smith
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom
/etc/e-smith/templates-user-custom
/etc/ssh
/root/.ssh
/etc/passwd
/etc/shadow
/etc/group
/etc/gshadow
/etc/smbpasswd
Does this mean that for me to move from 6.0.1 to 6.5, I backup and move these EXCEPT for /etc/e-smith/templates-custom and /etc/e-smith/templates-user-custom?
