Slow Network & BitTorrent

I am currently using SME Server 6.0.1.01
1 Gig P3, 768MB Ram & 25GB HD.
I have run the Update script, and added all updates.

Now my problem:

When using BitTorrent on one of my machines on the internal network, it seems to slow down internet access on all the other clients on the network.

I have forwarded the BitTorrent ports to the correct machine, CPU load is minimal and memory usage is minimal too on the server.

Has anybody else come across this problem and if so did you find a fix for it.

What is the bandwidth usage during download/upload?  If that machine is chewing up bandwidth, it will slow the rest of the network.

Bandwidth is less than 50KB/s Up and Down. It does not seem to matter what the upload or download rate is.

I can transfer files around my internal network at about 4700KB/s

You had stated that when people use BitTorrent, it slows internet access, not internal network transfer speeds....correct?

What is the bandwidth usage on your SME system monitor statistics, not the bitTorrent downloader.

BitTorrent is working as it is intended to.

Yes BitTorrent works great, I don't have a problem with that, it's my other machines that slow down on the network when using BitTorrent.

I was using a LinkSys Router before I rebuilt my SME server and I did not have these slow down problems.

Reduce the maximum upload/download speed in your bittorrent client to maybe 1/4 (or less) of the maximum speed you can get.  So about 20KB/s download, 10KB/s upload.  Otherwise it will eat all the available bandwith.

How did you do it? I have tried a lot of iptables rules, but I have not manged to do it right...
I have installed azureus on my client, 192.168.1.10.
Azureus uses port 8661 as default.
My SME server internal NIC is 192.168.1.1.

Can you please give me the correct rules to make this work??

Thanks
