Topic: Mailing through e-smith server

Hi,

First, your product is very good : Easy to install, no maintenance,...

In my office, I have setting a server and it works very well. But I have a problem with the e-mail: We can't send message to some adresses, but we can send to some others.

The configuration is not usual: we have a modem cable with the e-smith server connects to, we use our provider only for surfing on the web, the customizing emails accounts are hosting by an other isp.

And when we try to send email the message error contains  "smtp.wanadoo.fr: relaying not allowed". If the cable modem is plug to the hub, and so the client are directly connect to this, the emails can be send without any problems.
Smtp.wanadoo.fr is the smtp server from our provider, the one we use for surfing, but i have tried with the smtp server from our "mail isp".

We can't stop the "mail isp" because my boss is very careful with "Linux".

This message occurs if you try to send mail to domains other than wanadoo.fr via smtp.wanadoo.fr *and* smtp.wanadoo.fr does not recognise your IP address as the address of one of their customers.

If wanadoo.fr is your ISP, then you should be able to relay all your email through them. Something is wrong with their recognition of you as their customer. If they are not your ISP, then you should change the SMTP server you use to the SMTP server of your ISP.

On the other hand, if you configure the e-smith server with no SMTPSmartHost, and configure your client machines to use the e-smith server as their SMTP server, then the e-smith server should deliver email directly to its destination, without relaying.
