I am have a problem with Remote Desktop at 2 out of 3 sites after connecting to my SME using Microsoft VPN.
I have the following setup:
Main office:
XP Pro SP2 with Remote Desktop “Allowed”
IP Address: 192.168.xxx.100
SME Server (which is also Firewall /Gateway)
SME Server is the domain controller
1 PPTP client allowed is the setting on the SME Machine.
SME sever if also DHCP Server IP Range 192.168.xxx.100-199
SME Gateway 192.168.xxx.31
Sub Net 255.255.255.0
Connection to ISP is via Speed Touch 530 in Bridge Mode
Dynamic IP Allocated by ISP
Have domain Name, dyndns.org handles DNS for domain name.
Line Speed 1500/256
Remote 1
PC Running XP Pro SP2
Connects to Main Office using XP Built in VPN
Setup holds User Name. Password & Domain
Connection to SME Server works fine.
Receive IP Address 192.168.xxx.199
Able to view drives on SME Server.
Connect to XP Pro Desktop Machine in Main Office using Remote Desktop
This works fine.
Remote 1 has simular SME Server (Server Only Mode)
Connection to ISP is via Speed Touch 530 Normal Mode
Speed Touch is the DHCP Server.
IP for Speed Touch is 10.0.xxx.138
Speed Touch is Gateway
IP for XP Pro Desktop is 10.0.xxx.5
IP for SME Server 10.0.xxx.11
Sub Net 255.0.0.0
This site does not have any Router installed.
Line Speed 256/64
Remote 2

All I get is the Blue screen, Mouse movement & the IP of the computer that I am trying to connect to.
SME Server – Server Only Mode
SME Server is DHCP Server
Connection to ISP D-Link DSL-G604T (Modem, Router, 4 Port Switch & Wireless)
D-Link DSL-G604T is Gateway
D-Link DSL-G604T router’s IP Address 192.168.zzz.31
SME Server IP 192.168.zzz.11
XP Pro IP Address 192.168.zzz.100
Line Speed 1500/256
I have another Remote 3 with simular setup as Remote 2 and I get the same there;
A Blue screen, Mouse movement & the IP of the computer that I am trying to connect to.
Line Speed 512/512
The xxx and zzz are different numbers. e.g. xxx = 100 zzz = 125
