I am trying to set up a small (7 computers) server with gateway to DSL service and I am having problems. I copied the set-up that my brother-in-law has running his small business. Hooked to his network, using his settings for DHCP, my server worked fine. Here I can't seem to get it to connect to the internet. I have tried 48 different combinations (swapped:normal, DHCP:PPPoE, etc.) and I can't seem to get it to work. My I-Bays all seem to work but I can't get internet when the LAN is connected.
We have DSL through Qwest with an Actiontec GT701 wireless router. The internet works fine over the wireless when the LAN is disconnected. Qwest helpdesk told me that I need to set it up as a PPPoA but I can't seem to find that option on SME.
I have spent the better part of the morning perusing the Forums and troubleshooting to no avail! I don't know too much about command line stuff so I can't go that route... any help would be appreciated.
