Topic: Ibay mounted to USB disk?

Hi gang,
This is a bit of a long shot so here it goes.

I've got a Topfield 5800 which is a Linux based PVR. Sadly, it does not have onboard LAN or Wifi.

What I would like to do is connect it to my SME Server via the Toppy's onboard USB connection. Sadly, the connection was designed to purely connect to Windows machines.

However, several folks in the Toppy community say you can simply connect your Toppy to any old Linux box and it will show up as a mountable drive....which brings me to my question.

If this does indeed work, is there then a way that I can have an ibay be my mount point for my Toppy, since the unit will essentially just be an external drive from SME's perspective?

Sorry in advance as my Linux skills are still in need of improvement!
