I am testing out SME Server. This is a clean & blow awayable installation - (anything can be changed without screwing anything up).
I am at a remote location to my client's site where they would like something to give them webmail access. They have everything else they need (Firewall, Mail Server, etc.).
I have setup the SME Server as a standalone server with the following email settings:
Email Retrieval Mode: Standard (SMTP)
Delegate Mail Server:(Firewall IP Address currently used for external IMAP Access & SMTP delivery)
Address of Internet Provider's mail Server: (Firewall IP Address currently used for external IMAP Access & SMTP delivery)
I setup a user account with the same credentials as one that already exists on their email server.
I do not know what other settings need to be changed, but that user can log into the webmail function, but no email shows up even though their mailbox is fully populated (as evidenced by a straight IMAP client connection.
Any help configuring this would make it a lot easier to use SME for this and other clients.
