dccproc open(/var/dcc/map) permission denied
« on: September 21, 2005, 08:58:57 AM »
I'm getting maillog msg "dccproc open(/var/dcc/map) permission denied" after installing Knudsen's script for SpamAssassin. If I make the permission 777 on the map file it still fails. I haven't been able to google anything specific to this error although it is mentioned frequently. Any help is appreciated. :-(

I'd suggest that you report the problem to Knudsen. He should either know what's wrong, or be glad to find out that there is something wrong so that he can fix it.

Is there anything wrong other than the log message that you are seeing?

Thanks! Yes, there were other symptoms:

I could not login as admin at the server-manager, and
my ezmlm mailing lists also broke and still don't send to lists or respond to remote admin requests. They do not reject any mail either.

the mailserver receives mail and runs webmail for all(a few) users. this wasn't broken, but sme (6.01) accounts set to forward and store locally stopped forwarding and still don't.

this is case after apparently cleanly installing Knudsen's latest SA script which fixed the server-manager web admin interface, and spamd now cleaning starts. The log file had been showing spamc calls to spamd dieing on the "can't find the Storable module" error.
