Removing User Accounts To Make More Disc Space Available
« on: October 05, 2005, 05:21:38 PM »
I am quite new to SME and currently have the problem that users that have since left the school have existing e-mail accounts that are taking up a lot of disk space. I can remove the user accounts but how do I get rid of all their mail to release the disk space.

Can anyone help with this one as I am rapidly running out of space.

Regards,

HARRM. :-(

I thought that the user's personal mail folders were deleted when the account was deleted, but if not, then the administrator can delete the folders manually.

At the server's console, fire up Midnight Commander by typing mc at the command prompt.  Navigate to /home/e-smith/files/users and find the user's folders and delete those you desire.

Thanks very much for your reply. It worked and I am now feeling a lot more confident dealing with this server.

Thanks again for your reply.
