I got the following message:

Nov 26 11:32:13 server2005 e-smith-bg: Cannot open /etc/smbpasswd

Correct. SME 7.x has this located at /etc/samba/smbpasswd. If you note the sources, you'll see the dual entry of /etc/smbpasswd and /etc/samba/smbpasswd. I was playing with this build being able to run under all SME versions (which it can with minor tweaking by an experienced admin).

Go ahead and edit the source entry to match your release. I most likely will remove the dual entry from my next build.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Darrell,

I blew away my system after performing the 911 with a fresh install, and was able to install the contribs and restore the 911 job.  According to the log, everything recovered OK.

I apologize in advance, but do you have a comprehensive howto on backup2ws?  I would like to learn a little more about the contrib and how to tweak it with pre and post processing directives, config files, etc.  My searches on contribs.org didn't reveal anything.

Thanks,
Kevin

e-mail Notification?
« Reply #18 on: November 27, 2005, 08:43:01 PM »
Hi There,

Sorry, but I must be missing something.  I took a look at your URL reference, and while it contained several useful items, I didn't see how you would set up the mail notification.

I looked at some of the scripts, and it looks like you are looking at the Reporting value to determine if an e-mail should be sent.  Is this normally on or off (looks like off to me)?

I attempted to set this with the setprop command followed by a re-run of the configure, but that didn't work.  BTW, I did check the e-mail forwarding setup with webmail, and the box is configured to forward e-mail externally.

Perhaps I have not issued the setprop command properly, or I have missed a step?

Thanks,
Kevin
