Hi Reinhold.
Thanks for your reply.
I do get your point when I read my initial message.
I am right, but...
I think I have to define my config a little better. I do understand if it can be misunderstod.
Case.: My connection is a ADSL. consisting af DSL modem and a Router.
On the routers wan side i have 1 public ip. 80.164.x.x
On the routers lan side, my webserver, mailserver, ftp server and DNS server have to have specifik ip's since incoming traffic on those ports are routed to 3 different local ip's.
Mail server on port 25 are routed to 192.168.1.2
web server on port 80 are routed to 192.168.1.3
FTP server on port 21 are routed to 192.168.1.4
DNS server on port 53 are routed to 192.168.1.4
All servers need top have default gateway 192.168.1.1
Any additional services can be accessed on ip's in the range from 192.168.1.6 - 255
All ip's in the range from 192.168.1.6 - 100 are controlled by the routers built in DHCP server.
There for have I decided to use 192.168.1.101 as the fourth ip for other services. ( vpn,.....)
In total that makes 4 ip's that my SME server need to have.
You will proberly think " why dont he skip that router and connect the SME servers wan side direct to the DSL modem and install the router on lan side of the SME server.?"
Well, I would love to do that.
But this setup are a basic "security" package provided for my home office by the company that i work for.
And I am not allowed to make any changes to the config, since the router are controlled and configurred by my ISP.
This setup are actually a standard setup for bussines home offices in Denmark, when the ISP provider is TDC, who is the market leader in this country.
I do not attach any link for doc of this since all doc's are in danish. And that would proberly not make sense to you.
I hope this did clear up things a little.
And that you or some one else can help me on this issue.
Best regards
phelge
