Best Spam Solution?
« on: December 09, 2005, 09:00:39 AM »
Hello..

I have a client with and M$ Exchange server, they are getting hammered by spam (even though they use a commercial spam prevention product) I would like to implement an SME based solution for them that will filter all the spam before it gets to the exchange server.

I have always used the spamassasin contrib found on http://sme.swerts-knudsen.com. My concern is that because none of the users are local, all it will do is change the sunject line.

Would i be better off using ASSP ? or can someone make any other recommendations?

Thanks.

Are you using RBL's. Messages from listed IP's will be rejected by the sme server.

This HOWTO has been incorporated into swerts spam filter panel.

There are a few other techniques that will reject likely spam listed here

ASSP is an excellent solution. Set & forget.

The last version is a beta (in cvs) but dont let that put you off. I beleive its only waiting for someone to publish almost as it is as the next release.
