Moe,

It works fine for me with one exception, the upload of avatars does not work correctly due to a restriction on SME.  Otherwise it works just fine.  I'm running mine on 7.2b and once I am able to I will move it to 7.8b..but I need some help from this board.   There are some changes I would advise for your sanity:

Install phpsysinfo and phpmyadmin so the backup and resore of the database is easy.  The restore function of the DB is not allowed through the phpbb board but works well with the phpmyadmin function.

Other than that...enjoy!!

Wow!  Timm, slow down a little and let me catch up.
Did you get your download from the phpbb.com site?
I am using SME 6.0.1-1, to your knowledge will it work in this version?
When you loaded phpbb into your I-Bay, which of the three folders did you install it into, HTML - CGI - or Files?

Moe,

Sorry about the gibberish.  Here is what worked for me:

Install an I-bay and give it rights to execute CGI.
Install phpmyadmin and phpsysinfo
Open access to mysql by:
1.) running the commands to modify your template for local access only = no (search this bbs)
2.) Add a user (& secure password) with all rights to your mysql for any login location (this must be secure)
3.) Using phpmyadmin create a database for your bbs.
4.) Install phpbb in the HTML folder of the i-bay.
5.) Config & Enjoy...
