Adding an IDE RAID Controller
« on: December 21, 2005, 07:22:10 AM »
Hi All

I am trying to add an ITE (chipset) IDE raid controller to a 6.5 server. Has anyone else done this or similar like added a scsi controller ?

I've installed the developer toolkit and identified the correct module for the ITE controller but cannot work out where to go from here. It seems that I need scsi_module.o but not sure where to find this for SME 6.5.

TIA

Hi

I've tried all of that but the compiled version is wrong for sme.

[root@dakala 2.4.18-3smp]# insmod iteraid.o
iteraid.o: kernel-module version mismatch
iteraid.o was compiled for kernel version 2.4.18-3smp
while this kernel is version 2.4.20-37.7.legacysmp.

Hence I was trying to recompile with the new source driver and got stuck at the next step which is to have the scsi module source available, which its not.

Would V7 have the ite driver included ? Is it stable enough for a production (home only) system.

cheers
Tony
