Hi all, I have Verizon Fios and they block outbound port 80.  I'm using DYNDNS.org to resolve my dynamic IP and to cloak the url to another port of my choice....  The only question is, how do you change what port Apache listens to on SME 7?  I saw Dan's post for 5.x and I know that is outdated as some of the main configuration templates aren't there anymore.  Any help would be great - Verizon hooks 'ya with 5down/2up advertisement, then blocks port 80 so you can't host anything unless you change to an arbitrary port.  Geeesh.

You don't need to. Use port forwarding to connect another port of your choice to port 80, where apache will be listening.

maybe I'm confused....  I thought on my linksys that port range forwarding (start and end) only forwarded as "set of ports, like 26-50, etc.  Not changed it from one port to another.....

Linksys router does not have that option. SME server itself does have that option.
In linksys you can forward port: ### to IP: ###
In SME you can forward port: ### as port: ### to IP: ###

Maybe I should have been more descriptive.  I want to run the hardware linksys for my router/ddns client - it works great.  Verizon blocks port 80 outbound on their new FIOS service (so the 2 up doesn't seem as glamorous now) and I was just trying to figure out a way to change the port SME apache listens on so I can have it route direct from my DDNS (DYNDNS.org)....  I.E., if I decide to use port 26, It will route to www.mywebsitehere.com:26 and then I can use the linky's simple forward command to forward 26 to my internal IP on port 26.  I'm not even sure if this is possible on SME - but I wanted to make the attempt before I nuke it and use a distro like CENTOS for my webserver.  (I personally like SME better as all the options etc are perfect.)

If you follow Charlie's advice and use the server manager to forward port 80 to another port, say 10080, at your smeserver's IP address, then configure your Linksys router to forward external port 10080 to your smeserver's IP address, then point your dyndns webhop to port 10080, you should be good to go. Better yet, get rid of that Linksys router and use SME as your gateway. It's more secure and far more configurable. I use this setup with VZ's DSL to get around the port 80 block, and it works great!
