Topic: Connection between samba users from the old workgroup

I have a reappearing challenge, reinstall of my 6x server on a fresh 7x box. I have a problem with the backup to desktop so I would see if I can avoid this process.

OK this is what I do:
I use the lazy-admin tool and dump (almost) all configuration parameters.
Install a fresh 6.5 on the new box I wish to use
Then I install dungog user panel : http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/dungog/files/userpanel/
Use the lazy-admin tool to recreate the configuration http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs//mblotwijk/Contribs/lazy-admin-tools/
Then I mount the old disk (mount dev\hdb3 mnt\olddisk) and copy users, i-bays and mysql (exept horde, mysql and temp db)
Then I upgrade the server to 7.09 (this converts the users mail folders)
Almost all works now.
I would like to be able to estable connection between samba users from the old workgroup/server, without adding them to a new domain and loosing the user profiles on the windows XP workstations.
I don’t mind resetting the passwords.
