More domain and multi-server vision & site-to-site vpn.

Hi.

I don't really know what the goals are/were with the design of SME, i mean if it was originally only meant for a single server. But i don't see, or can't seem to work out, a 'vision' on a multiple server situation. As far as i can discover there are no easy (server-manager) options for setting a single server for authentication with some sort of fallback (PDC/BDC-like) and replicating/syncing important files/dirs accross a domain.

Also with the increase of availability of broadband it is becoming more and more interesting to be able to connect from anywhere to the office but also interconnect offices and domains... even for small businesses.

I think really interesting features for the core of SME would be:
- Easy (multiple) site-to-site VPN connections
- Possibility for authentication consolidation/redirection to some sort of PDC with fallback to BDC or local, even accross VPN
- LDAP replication (slurpd?!) for PDC/BDC-like function when VPN/PDC fails (authentication, etc.)
- Replication possibilities (rsync?!) of files/dirs (login scripts, etc.)

Kind regards,
jester.
