Change IP of 7.0p1 server?
« on: January 15, 2006, 01:26:37 PM »
I've been running/playing with 7.0 through a couple of beta's on a newly built box with the aim of replacing my current 6.0 setup.

The 7.0 server has been using a different IP Host name and  address, so I can see both at the same time and allows be to move stored files between the two.

However, I've now come to the stage where I'd like to use the 7.0p1 box instead of the 6.0, but think I've painted myself into a corner...:-?

How can I change the Host address to that currently used by my 6.0 box?

There's no terminal menu as exists in 6.0 and the user-manager doesn't seem to offer the ability (that I can find anyway).

Any ideas?

You're wrong. The menu exists, and you will see it when you log in as "admin".

I'd suggest you read (or re-read) the user guide. Lots of gems hidden in there.

My bad.
I'm so used to not having to log into the console as admin I didn't think.
My apologies.

Hi panda,

I am also looking to move from sme 6 to sme 7
I would like to know how you are planning to move the users from the sme 6 machine to sme7. I have about 50 accounts and I woul dlike to move the users and not loose thier emails.

I used a variation of the solution HERE

I don't have as many users and they all use IMAP, so it was a case of creating a new account on the new server and dragging the mails across.
