Just testing something, and seem to be finding a problem.
I have a sme7pre1 server setup with abc.net.au as the primary domain. I have added a domain name for an internal mail server that has a valid internet address of xyz.com.au.
I have modified in hostnames and address the mail and www redirection for the ip to point to the intenal ip for the machine, as well as the mac address. The internal server (sme6.01-01) is set to DHCP and picks up the address assigned by the sme7pre1 server.
Internally, if i type
www.xyz.com.au I go straight to the correct server, and mail will go there as well.
However, if I try to connect from out side in the wild wild web, my browser goes only to abc.net.au, and if I ping mail.xyz.com.au, I get the same email address as abc.net.au - which is what i expect.
Both the A and MX records are correct, as in abc.net.au and xyz.com.au records point to the same location.
Anyway, when email is sent from outside the local network, it does not get to xyz.com.au, and when requests are made via pop or smtp from outside clients for xyz.com.au, there is no mail waiting.....
any ideas ?¿?
