VPN issue.
« on: February 14, 2006, 04:58:27 AM »
Hi,
I am trying to setup a vpn on 7 pre1.  I created a user and assigned them vpn access.  Went to remote access and changed it from 0 to 2. When i log in it verify's the user name and password and connect just fine.  I can ping the sme server and get a reply just fine, but i cannot ping anything else on the lan behind sme.  I have another server sitting on the web that is running Clarkconnect that i tried the same thing and it works just fine coming from the same xp machine.  Ok while i was typing this i was also trying a couple of different things.  I connected to the vpn and noticed my ip was 192.168.1.1 and so was my dns and wins.  That is the ip of the actuall server.  Why would it give me that ip when it is setup to give out 192.168.1.50-192.168.1.250?
I hope its somthing simple that i over looked.  Any ideas?
Thanks
Andy
PS, I did try to specify my ip on the vpn connection and when i try to connect it rejects the connection and gives me and error 754 i believe.

If that is truly the IP that is being given to you by the server through DHCP then you have found a bug.  Please try the connection again and if you have the same results take it to the bug tracker, the links are to you left<<<<<.

I wasnt sure if it was me doing something wrong or missing a step some where along the line.  If its a bug then i would think that others would be having the same issue. Is there anyone else that has setup a VPN successfully with sme7 pre2? <-i just checked and somewhere along the way it was upgraded to pre2.
If nobody else has, then I will submit a bug report and see what happens.
THanks
Andy
