I am attempting to load SME 7.0 pre2 on a Toshiba Magnia SG20.  Because the Magnia has no video, ps/2, or CD ROM, I pulled the Harddrive and put in a normal machine and loaded SME 7.  Upon completing the install I went through the config, setting it up in "Server Only".  After the reboot and activation of the new config.  I logged in as root and edited /etc/modprobe.conf and changed the eth0 alias to reflect the Magnia's ethernet driver.  Then shutdown put the harddrive back in the SG20.  Unfortunately I am not able to connect to SG20's eth0.  And since there is no video or ps/2 I can't see the boot or run Kudzu.

Does anyone know if this has been done before and what the procedure might be or have any thoughts on what to try.

Many thanks

hmm, lookes like a nice one ;-)

Looked at something similar in the past, solved that one with the links below.
Link one : http://bluequartz.org/~oda/docs/serial/index.html
Link two : http://www.cpqlinux.com/serialinstall.html
As you can see this is about redirection via serial/ttyS0

My idea is to route the console to lp0, as that is the only common thing that hopefully does not change...
Can't tell if that is going to work, think you need to check that yourself.

Going to give this a shot.  If I can't make this work it is possible to ugrade from 5.6 to 7.0 right on the device.  I have an image of 5.6 that I can load up without a problem.  If I have to resort to this, is there an rpm or rpms, a script or something that I can scp to the 5.6 box to upgrade to 7.0.

Thanks
