Problem with account management after yum update 7.0beta3
« on: February 28, 2006, 09:58:48 PM »
Hi folks,

I recently ran yum update on my SME 7.0beta3 server (in my private home network). When I three days later, after reinstalling one of the XP clients, tried to add it to my domain, I noticed something has hapend. In fact it seems totally impossible to even add normal user accounts or groups. When using the server-manager I only get the message "An error occured while...".

Whats wierd is, the created user account somehow IS created in the web interface - but never written to for example sambadb or /etc/passwd.

I have done quite some research by now, but noone meantion this problem (at least not that I know about) - and therefor I have no solution...

Thanks for taking time!

If they did mention it, it should have been mentioned in the Bug Tracker. And that's where you should go, to report your problems to the developers (in detail), so that they can investigate, and hopefully fix, the problem.
