Upgrade from sme7pre4 to sme7RC1?
« on: March 19, 2006, 11:45:44 AM »
How do I upgrade my SME7.0pre4 to RC1. I can not find information here: Announcement: SME Server 7 release status (7.0 Release Candidate 1).

The software installer does not give the option to install additional software and also running yum upgrade by the command line says there is nothing to do.

As there are bug fixes from pre4 to RC1here should be updates available, or am I wrong?

When pre4 was released the ISO image was on the mirrors a few days before  the update was available in server-manager or via YUM.

Sure the update to RC1 will be available soon.

That is strange.... as the link I added in the first post displays:

Well if it is March 18th (as seems plausible as the ISO is dated March 17th) I will wait.

I am a bit puzzled about the post date though!

Now that rc1 is out, how DOES a person running, say, pre3 upgrade? I run yum upgrade and it does nothing. Do you download the newest iso, and reload?

Files required to perform the update should be on the servers within a few days.

Then you can update from server manager or using YUM from the command line.

From the Development mailing list:

"The development team is very pleased to announce that SME Server 7.0rc1 is on its way to the mirrors.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped with the development and
testing of this release.

Thanks,

Gordon
