Qmail Sorry, no mailbox here by that name
« on: March 24, 2006, 12:20:06 AM »
Hi I have a problem when trying to send to email addres through my smeserver. It only happens when I send to somone hows domain is been hosted on my server. I have them set up as a virtual domain so I can host their website for them but I do not have them using the server for email, that is managed by another provider.

What I am assuming is when i send to an email to their domain eh jbloggs@mydomain.com and I host mydomain.com in my domains list with and IBay it thinks there should be an account for this domain on my server but as they are not set up as a user I get the return message shown below.

I have come across this problem with windows server and it was amatter of telling the server to send externally if the mail box was not fouind on the local mail server, simply really and it works .

Problem is I do not no how to do this with the SME

Any help would be appreciated.

regards

Setup www.vdomain.com as the virtual domain, rather than vdomain.com. Then you won't interfere with mail for user@vdomain.com.
