I'll outline my requirements below and ask that people might be able to give me some feedback. I'm mainly interested in things that i'm not going to be able to do:
Scenario:
One main server hosting domain "example.tld"
Operate different subdomains for different departments "dept1.example.tld"
Users have access to one subdomain each "user@dept1.example.tld"
Users only able to access information from within their subdomain
Each subdomain has a publicly available website
Each subdomain has access to private (read: secure) data storage on NAS server
SME Requirements:
Have "Admin User" within each group (read: sub domain) of users to create/edit/delete users only within their group
Multiple sub domains with seperate email addresses (j.smith@sub1.domain.com is different to j.smith@sub2.domain.com)

no doubt i will have more questions.
have been using 5.6 at a basic level and have limited knowledge of linux in general, but i'm wiling to gie anything a go!
