Hi there,

I have a lot of clients running on my servers, and I realy like SME7 a lot.....
Just one little thing is puzling me....

This guy tells you how to make a proxy.pac that works on SME5 and let IE clients automaticly find the proxy and use proxy.pac

I realy love such to happen for the following reason, I use squid to safe traffic on my ADSL connection.
But sometimes I have to do maintenance, like bigger HD's or such.
Then a whole lot of people start calling me why they can't surf the Internet.
With that auto-proxy thinggy, would be real handy when the server is down, as IE won't find the script and uses a direct-connection.
I use and ADSL-router for gateway and DHCP.

Do you think such an automatic proxy config, like the guy described can be implemented in the SME webcontrol panel so that you can turn this on/off (or even give other proxy's to use)
I mean, nothing fancy or so, but just a basic feature for this server...maybe with a little description where to alter the proxy.pac if you need a more advanced one.

Can this be done?
I'm sure many people here would like that option, as you don't need to do anything more then turn auto-detect-proxy on in windows and that's it.

I hope you consider this.
