Wildfire server works like a charm, I currently have it, Spark (the jivesoftware jabber client) and SAIL Asterisk working together on one server.  This allows phone presence on the IM Clients, Click-to-cal, and secure IM'ing.  I installed the Wildfire server from the rpm, started it, and configured it with the mysql backend.  (Mysql took a little tweaking) but it was straight forward and stable.  Wildfire and Spark can be found at http://www.jivesoftware.org

I agree, Wildfire (ex Jive Messenger) slots into SME perfectly. I have yet to integrate Wildfire with SME LDAP so that SME users are automatically added as Wildfire users but like dswilla I have Wildfire and SAIL Asterisk working together.

I didnt use LDAP, I went for the easier POP3 Authentication, do a search on their forums, for a howto or let me know and I will post it.

A brief walkthrough can be found here:

http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=31493.0

It covers installation and changing to pop3 auth.  When I have time I will write up a howto on Asterisk integration using Spark Client and SAIL.
