How to install mcrypt
« on: April 14, 2006, 04:14:52 PM »
I'm looking for help installing mcrypt on sme server 7.0 RC1.

I get mcrypt-2.6.4.tar.gz
and libmcrypt-2.5.7.tar.gz

tried to configure it on my server but got this error:

configure:2270: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

Here is my config.log:

This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by configure, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.57.  Invocation command line was

  $ ./configure

How to install mcrypt
« Reply #1 on: April 15, 2006, 12:05:37 PM »
I solve my problem founding and installing this 3 rpm:

libmcrypt-2.5.7-2.el4.kb.i386.rpm
libmhash-0.9.1-1.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm
mcrypt-2.6.4-1.el4.kb.i386.rpm

with option rpm -ivh

It seems that the rpm are installed. I didn't get any error.

If I execute mcrypt from the shell the program run good.

But now, how can I add mcrypt extension to my php.ini?

Do I have to recompile php, or I just have to add some line in php.ini?

Finally I did it!

If you need to install mcrypt use following link

http://www2.cddc.vt.edu/linux/distributions/smeserver/index.php?subdir=contribs%2Fgswallow%2FSME7-Centos3.4%2FRPMS&sortby=date

and dowload 4 rpms

libmcrypt-2.5.7-1.dag.rhel3.i386.rpm
mhash-0.9.1-2.i386.rpm
php-mcrypt-4.3.2-19.ent.2.i386.rpm
php-mhash-4.3.2-19.ent.2.i386.rpm

execute them with rpm -ivh and it's all.

Hope this can help someone... ;-)

Are these 4 rpms still valid with SME7.2?
I would also like to upgrade my PHP to version 4.3.11 if anyone has the appropriate rpms.

Thanks

edb
