Topic: not receiving email

Hi, I can not receive any email,My domain ranout, so I changed my domain name on my server...since then is when I started having problems I have started over, and installed 6.0 then upgraded to 7.03...  I can send email. but can not recieve from outside. I can send to myself and receive it. I have same ISP and static IP.  Could it have anything to do with my domain hosting service? Before I call them I wish to make sure my end is ok. Thanks for any help.

Did you get a new domain name from a domain provider?

If you did ... it takes a while to come online.

As far as I know it can take up to 72hrs for a new domain name to come online

Did you point the new domain to your ip address.

Just a few questions for you to check out.

I have started over, and installed 6.0 then upgraded to 7.03

7.03 ?? ... is that 7 alpha3, beta3

I know the early versions had some problems.

SME 7  is up to Rc1 ... maybe you should load on the latest version and see if you still have problems.

Also why would you load on Ver 6 then upgrade it to 7 ... why not just load on 7 from start.

first off ..my domain host had my dns settings screwed up(buydomains.com), ...was not sending any email to my ip....second I wanted to stay with 6.0...but when my email did not work...I upgraded to see if that was the issue. Too many things were changed at once and I was trying to trouble shoot the whole picture instead of one thing at a time....now that it is working...I may wipe and load 6.0 back in, as I was running for almost a year without even a reboot......7.03( the version on the link of this site) has too many security variables I do not need. All  I use my server for is email and hosting family photos.
