SME 7.0rc1 - receiving double mail
« on: April 18, 2006, 10:39:40 PM »
Hi,

I configured the SME7 with fetchmail.
Strange enough all mails are received twice.

Somebody elese had that problem before?
What could be a solution?

Check the bug tracker this has in fact already been answered and fixed, and if it wasn't in the bug tracker then you would of course open a new bug.

As i was already in the bug tracker take a look at this...

http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401

Is this a new install ? or an upgrade? my guess is a upgrade as the bug states.

Hi,

the situation is alittle bit different.
The output of rpm -qf /etc/e-smith/templates-user*/.qmail/*

shows:
e-smith-qmail-1.10.0-01
e-smith-qmail-1.10.0-01
smeserver-spamassassin-1.4.0-01
e-smith-qmail-1.10.0-01
e-smith-qmail-1.10.0-01

So there is nothing to fix.
I remember having the same issue with an SME 6.5 installation after enabling spamassasiin.
But this time it's all build-in, so I guess something else might be misconfigured.

Any other hint?

thx,

C.

you are probably hosting your own domain... if so is your site hosted on a domain that uses a mailrelay to deliver e-mail to your server?

My DNS is configured for multiple mailserver as my providers blocks incoming trafic from the outside world other than by there mailservers. Do you have more than one mailserver configured (multiple MX records) in your DNS entry?

Then please report to bug tracker if that bug is not the cause.

From bug tracker:

And to fix:

delete the custom template
perform a reconfiguration reboot from the Shutdown and Reboot panel

The .qmail files should all now be correct.

------- Comment #4 From Gordon Rowell 2006-01-04 18:20 [reply] -------

Here's the culprit:

[...]
file /etc/e-smith/templates-user-custom/.qmail/e-smithForward20 is not owned by
any package
[...]

Custom templates come with no guarantees about how they may affect the system,
especially after upgrades.

Resolving as INVALID, since it's a custom template issue.

Thanks for the report.

Didn't quite work that way I ended up removing:
/etc/e-smith/templates-user-custom/.qmail/e-smithForward20
Then doing:
signal-event email-update
and
signal-event post-upgrade
and
signal-event reboot

After that the duplicate e-mail stopped
