ntpd NEVER synchs externally
« on: April 25, 2006, 05:01:06 PM »
time & date are way out.
ntpd log files shows that it only ever synchs with LOCAL(0) never with any external server?

any idea why?

My server has no issue finding a server with which to sync.

The obvious questions are...

* is there a firewall or some proxy or x in the way of the return packets?
* did you specify an ntp source in the web GUI?
* do any machines on your network sync time to the outside? What is their source? Have you configured your server to use that source?

Please report all problems only via the Bug Tracker. Describe what you have done, what you expect to see, and what you see instead. Report what you see in the log files.
