Newbie here. Have installed SME and have it up and running nicely. I would like to know if there is a way to make a data folder private so that only one user can get into it. Not even an admin without the password. Is this possible?
Can a password be unchangeable without the original?

You can create a group with only one user as the member, then create an ibay that belongs to that group. Only that user will be able to get in.

Note though that while admin won't get in unless you make  admin a member of the group, by other means the admin/root user has access to everything on the server.


Alternatively just password protect the file eg using Word or Excel password feature.
If you loose the password though, you have lost the file for forever.

Thanks for that. Is there also a plugin that can encrypt a folder for that extra security?
