Topic: Restricting access to ALL resources of SME server

Hi All,

I am wondering is there a way to restrict anyone from my LAN from accessing, say, the internet, etc,?  What I want done is for everyone to log on my SME server (gateway/server) before they can surf the net, access files, etc.  I am using the latest SME server 7.  This is how my system is set up:

Internet - cable modem - SME server (gateway/server) - switch (16 ports) - computers, printers, ip cams, nas.

I know for sure that SLES 9 does this with ease, I am not sure with SME.

dsemuk, thank you for that link, I appreciate it very much.  However, what I am looking for is a control over my SME server in terms of accessing all of its resources, such as printer, file share, internet, and all users have to log in SME server.  Without logging in to SME server, no access at all except to local computer only, is what I really am after.

Have a read of the documentation, particuarly the handbook this will give you clues as to how you can setup SMEserver, giving users the access that you require.

If after reading the documentation you need to tighten up control of your server further yo know where we are.
