FTP, same dir for all users
« on: January 18, 2002, 12:55:03 PM »
Hi,

I would like set up a FTP server, and some of my users should only be able to see one directory, and all under that.

/FTP
/FTP/Download
/FTP/Upload
/FTP/Upload/Papers
.........

So when they log in, the first directory they should see is /FTP

How do I set that up?

Regards

Allan

It is merely not possible to put up an ftp directory with different "user-groups" on the sub-directories. You could only acchieve that by playing with access rights at the command prompt.

The rest is simple: create ibay. give ftp-access (from private side normally). create sub-dirs. There you are.

Remember, that in this case all user are thrown to the root of that ebay when coming in under "normal" Lan-Access. So you better not use that dir for "normal" file-sharing purposes.
