Topic: Rewrite Rule Help

I am moving a full web site from plain html to a content management system (Plone) that has a different structure. Some of my old site is indexed by various search engines. What I want to happen is for any attempt to go to an old page anywhere on the old site (e.g., a Google link that points to www.chryxus.com/svc-lst.html) to take the user to the *home page* only in a different domain (e.g., www.chryxus.ca).

My various attempts at coding a rewrite rule all result in the domain name being rewritten but the actual page name not being touched -- but I want the page name portion either eliminated or rewritten as 'index.html'.

Perhaps Rewrite is not the best approach for this.

Any suggestions?
