Topic: Dansguardian install not working ??

Im new to the SME software.

Ive tried loading Dansguardian. At first I did a standard rpm install. It seemed to install ok but when I go to the sme interface I cant see it in the left column. I tryed installing again but still nothing. I do a ps command and it seems to be running. The dans guardinan sites says I have to enable it by commenting out some line in the .conf file. But its not there so I asume its a red herring only for redhat and regular linux installs.

Then I uninstalled it  and tryed to do the
yum install dansguardian smeserver-dansguardian  thing (never heard of yum but this is how dungog said to install it. And it sort of works half way but says something about not being able to connect to web site. (does yum download things)

Anyway Im not at work right now so dont have all the perfect error messages etc. but this is the gist of my problem.

Questions:
If I install using rpm command should this work and is there a panel that I should see in the server panel. Or is there no user interface for dansguardian. Any advice on what Im doing wrong.
I want it to show up in the server panel .

Go and read the dungog site more carefully. You need to pay them money for the server manager panel.

Otherwise see this howto for the command line version.
