Odd XP Write / Open Permissions Question
« on: June 19, 2006, 12:51:23 PM »
I have setup SME7 for a small workgroup and enabled domain logins, setup users / groups etc. The first off thing I noticed was that users could not write to their own C drives even when domain logged in. When I added a local account of the same name to the workstation they could then write to C? I assume this is something to do with the inherited permissions at domain login ?

My second problem is that even though the domain user account is at Admin level (as well as being Admin localy) they have to be logged in as domain admin to install software.

Thirdly, and this is the big one, any attempted open or modifications to ACT (a CRM SW) templates on the local hard disc result in access denied.

What rights does a user inherit when they domain login to the SME 7 ?

How is this process modified to relax the above restriction ?

Do I need to use the group policy editor ?

Any help really really appreciated !
