Topic: Uninstalled php through web interface & now can't boot

Hello,

I uninstalled php from the GUI, but get a php syntax error when attempting to boot.  Server will not boot & loops with the php error.

Can I recover from this or do I need to do a clean install?

What GUI did you use to uninstall php? I'm not aware of one.

Upgrade from CDROM should fix it.

I installed it from the server-manager SOFTWARE INSTALLER.  I uninstalled it because it did not accept my password - then the problem.

I tried updated from the CD but the problem persisted - so I did a clean install.

Now - how do I  install msql and phpmyadmin safely?

mysql is already installed and configured. I don't know about phpmyadmin, and wouldn't recommend you use it. If you can't find a howto, you should ask on the 7.x contribs forum, not this one.

Charlie is correct.  Mysql is already installed, but I've used phpmyadmin for several years on several incarnations of SME without any problems.  You'd probably get better response in the SME 7.x Contribs Forum, but you can look on MasterSleepy's website.  He has a phpmyadmin rpm available for download.
