Squidguard how to block local SME computer
« on: June 23, 2006, 03:15:36 PM »
I have loaded squidguard.
It works well on all the comptuers accept the SME machine itself.

The reason that I want to block sites on the SME computer is that I want to run a wget script to keep checking the web sites that they are still blocked. However since it appers that the sme machine can get to blocked sites the wget cant check (because it will always show that it has access). The Ip of the machine is 192.168.1.1. Im guessing that I put this somewhere to block the local computer.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem.

Thanks.

Can you share how you succeed on installing SG?
Does this include the panel or are you editing the ACL's by hand?

Thanks,

Well I installed the rpm and used the rpm command to install.

I did install the panel however It doesnt seem to work, what I mean by that is that when I try to make changes it always gives me an error. Im not at the system right now so cant tell you what the error is but its like Im not putting in the right syntax which I think I am. So I dont know if its something broken, which I tend to not think becaue it installed properly or perhaps some permission issue.

Anyway that means that Im using the files edit it. I really have not made any changes to it. I am just using the blacklist file that came with it.
