Has the issue been solved with DGE-530T NIC's?
« on: June 23, 2006, 06:26:36 PM »
I just tried to install a DGE-530T NIC into a sme 7rc3 box and found that the card was not recognized. I went to the forums to see if anyone else had this issue and found some post from the middle of last year on the older versions of SME.

Has there ever been a fix found to make these cards work? Is there going to be?

If not, can someone please advise me as to which gigabit NIC's will work with SME 7?

Thanks for any help.

Search the Bug Tracker. If there is an issue with the DGE-530T NIC it should have been reported there. If the issue has been fixed, the Bug Tracker ticket will be in RESOLVED or CLOSED state. If there is a workaround, the Bug Tracker ticket will say what the workaround is.

If you are having a problem with a DGE-530T NIC, and don't find anything in the Bug Tracker, open a new ticket.

Thanks, I will do that.

I checked the Bug Tracker and didn't find anything.
Thought maybe the problem had been resolved and I wasn't seeing it.

The developers can't resolve problems that they are not aware of. They also don't have time (or the inclination) to read every post on the forums.

Filed with Bugzilla, returned WONTFIX

So it seems as the DGE-530T is not compatible and there is no plan to make it compatible.

Is there a Gigabit NIC that is compatible out of the box?

Most cards which use the e1000 driver work well, at least according to this message:

Ordered some Intel Pro 1000 GT's that match the criteria.

Thanks for the info.
