Dependencies

Hey all!

Since there is SOO much help in this forum (serious!), I thought I could post another one of my probs here too :)

I want to install CenterICQ on my system, but when I want to install it, it tells me that there are 2 dependencies needed:
* libsigc++ >= 1.0.0 is needed by centericq-4.5.0-3
* libsigc-1.0.so.0 is needed by centericq-4.5.0-3
I can understand that it needs these, but the reason I am asking for help is it all went wrong the last time! A while ago I wanted to install these dependencies and the only thing the system told me after that was: failed - kernel too old. Nothing worked anymore and I had to re-install. That wasn't such a prob, cause I am still learning and this is all part of the process I guess :). But this time I want to do it good right away.
The question is: can these dependencies be installed without any probs or do I just have to try? When I look for them on rpmfind.net I can only find dependencies for RedHat 7.2 (and SME 5.0 is build on 7.1). Could this be a problem, or (again) do I just have to try?

Thanks a lot for reading and trying to understand!
