Topic: Two servers pop and smtp.

Any idea why my server is not sending email to external account ?? When the email is for my domain it arrives in few seconds. But when is for yahoo or hotmail it's not.

Nowaday, i have cofigurated two SME Email Servers: one for receive (pop) and another as sending (smtp). To this way the emails is arriving to external acount in a few seconds, but two servers for only 200 accounts???

Any idea what it can do?

You should provide some additional information.
What is your network layout?
Have you checked the mail logs? Are there any errors when you send mail to an external domain?

There is a link in the server manager, under Administration,  named Mail log file analysis.

I reccomend you test your hard drive with powermax (or a similar utility) and see if there are any problems with it.
Replacing the IDE cable may also help.

It's SATA Disk. But i don't believe that it was my HDD because my HDD is new.

That's basically what it means...a "status" message, if you google you'll see more info.

Another thing:

When i was on SME Server 6.0.1 It was the same thing i could't send to external accounts because of that i try with SME 7.

I make the migration from 6.0.1 to 7.

But in SME 7 nether can't send to external account (hotmail, yahoo, etc) only with i set up another server as smtp server i was success.

Any idea ? Please

What you provided was the 'Basic statistics' page which shows the number of failures and deferrals.

There are two other pages... 'Reason for Failure' and Reason for Deferral' Maybe posting these will shead more light on the problem.

you should maybe give to your SME SMTP  the SMTP adress of you internet provider :

simpel solution:
go to the server-manager,  email settings and put it here , every outgoings mails will pass thru the SMTP of your ISP.


other solution:
try to search every ISP who reject your email and put their name in the qmail  file:

/var/qmail/control/smtproutes (using a template-custom then expand-template /var/qmail/control/smtproutes ;service qmaild restart)
