Dell Power Edge 1300 running power edge raid 5 no ide drives

Installed a STT22000 seagate Tape Drive on IDE 2

When ESME 5.1.2 Boots up it can see the tape drive but will not load any drivers for it and when i tell sme to do a backup it returns no tape in device

it seems that when sme is running sisci it wont read IDE

can anyone help to get this working..
