Our subnet is 192.168.1.*
Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0
IP addresses are manually configured on each PC.
SME has hostname for this computer name as 192.168.1.247 skip.domain.local
When we ping skip from internal lan it comes back with “pinging skip [192.168.1.95]”
All requests time out. When we ping –a 192.168.1.247 we get a reply of pinging skip.domain.local [192.168.1.247] and all replys come back normal.
If we vpn into the sme from outside and try to ping skip we get the following:
Pinging skip [192.168.1.95] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination host unreachable.
If i ping from sme (logged in with putty) it resolves correctly. I did a ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /release & renew on the windows box and still no luck.
We have deleted skip from the hostname and addresses and recreated him and still no luck. What else am I missing? Is there someway to find out why sme is holding on to that 95 ipaddress? Please help!
