Topic: hylafax cant pick up the coming fax call

What I did is:
1. Install hylafax on SME server 7.0
2. run faxsetup
3. run faxgetty
4. run /etc/rc.d/init.d/hylafax start
4. run /usr/local/sbin/hfaxd
5. run /usr/local/sbin/faxq
6. run /usrlocal/sbin/faxstate to show hylafax server is running.

However, the modem do nothing when the coming call arrive. There are only two lights on.

Please help.

Please confirm your faxgetty is listening yet.

If I remember correctly it die after a while (or one call) and must be in /etc/inittab to respawn again. There are something about this on documentation.

Maybe a ps should show it to you.

yes, that is my problem. I did this already. umm...I have added the command with "/etc/rc.d/init.d/hylafax" into inittab. I have used ps to check what programs were runnning but it didnt include faxgetty. What can I do? My version in use is hylafax 4.3.0.

Dont know why. After I reboot the server, the modem become ready automatically.
